Directions To and Parking at Pipestave Hill

From Route 95 North or South:
Take Exit #86, Route 113 – Newburyport and West Newbury.
Take Route 113 west towards West Newbury.
Go 2.5 miles,
Pipestave Hill Equestrian Area entrance is on the left.
From Groveland Center (intersection of Route 97 and Route 113):
Take Route 113 east 5.3 miles through the center of West Newbury.
Pipestave Hill Equestrian Area entrance on the right.
From Route 495 North or South:
Note: The Rocks Village Bridge that provides access to Pipestave Hill from 495 is a very narrow bridge with a height restriction of 12’ 6”.
Take Exit 111 – Rte. 110 Haverhill & Bradford.
Take Rte. 110 east.
Go 1.9 miles & take right onto Amesbury Line Road at Whittier Vocational Technical School sign.
Continue on this road 1.2 miles (stay left at fork) to the stop sign.
Bear left at the stop sign and continue 0.2 mile to the Rocks Village bridge. Cross the bridge and go left at the fork after the bridge onto Bridge St.
Follow Bridge St. to the end and take left onto Rte. 113 east.
Go 1.5 miles to the Pipestave Hill Equestrian Area entrance on the right.
Parking at Pipestave Hill Equestrian Area
All trails, enclosed practice rings, and cross-country fields can be accessed from the Pipestave Equestrian Area Main Parking Lot.
Pipestave Equestrian Area Main Parking Lot
- Park at the end of the gravel lot near the rings.
- Please clean up any manure, hay, or shavings.
- The lot is also used for the athletic fields so can be congested when an event is going on.
Mill Pond (lower field) and Mill Pond (pond) Parking
- These parking areas are not advised for large trailers due to the narrow roads in and out.
- The Mill Pond area is heavily utilized for parking by dog walkers and becomes very congested.
- The parking near the pond is not recommended as it has deep ruts and does not provide an area to turn around.
